Looks like the year 2019 will be a good year for Kapuso actor Dion Ignacio as he is once again back doing lead roles in GMA-7’s primetime slot.
According to a Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) report, Dion is set to work again with a new drama series together with her fellow StarStruck alumni, Yasmien Kurdi.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, Dion and Yasmien, who both started their showbiz career upon joining the first batch of GMA-7’s artista search “StarStruck”, attended the story conference of their upcoming series called “Hiram na Anak”.
In the new series, they will be joined by other Kapuso stars including Paolo Contis, Lauren Young, Maey Bautista, and child star Leanne Bautista.
“Hiram na Anak” will be Yasmien and Dion’s reunion project after playing lead roles in the 2008 TV adaptation of the movie “Saan Darating ang Umaga?” where Yasmien played the role of Diamon Star Maricel Soriano while Dion plated the role first played by Raymond Lauchengco.
The public first get a sneak peek of Yasmien and Dion’s new project during GMA-7’s New Year Countdown for 2019 where new Kapuso series get their own ombinus plug.
“Hiram na Anak” will also serve as Dion’s comeback as a leading man, the “StarStruck” finalist has his last major role in the afternoon series “Magkaibang Mundo” which aired in 2016. But he was also seen in the recently concluded fantasy series “Victor Magtanggol”.
For Yasmien’s part, this new soap will serve as a follow-up project after her hit advocacy series “Hindi Kp Kayang Iwan Ka” which was shown in 2018.
“Hiram na Anak” will be directed by Gil Tejada Jr., he is also the director of several afternoon series starred by Yasmien including “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso?” in 2007 and “Sa Piling Ni Nanay” in 2016.
To commence their reunion project, Yasmien posted a throwback photo of her and Dion on Monday, January 7, 2019.
The photo was taken 10 years ago when they worked together for “Saan Darating ang Umaga”.
‘”Morning Awaits” w/ @dion_ignacio #throwback 10 years ago. Hi to all from Shayne and Raul!” Yasmien wrote.
When the said TV series was aired internationally, the producers used the title “Morning Awaits”, hence Yasmien’s caption.
In a separate Instagram post, Yasmien also posted a photo together with her “Hiram na Anak” co-stars and promoted the series which according to her will be shown “soon” on GMA-7.
