As the highly anticipated October 8, 2019 quickly approaches, the Robredo and Marcos camps have issued separated statements reflecting their sentiments.
Election lawyer Romeo Macalintal of the Robredo camp said that whatever the decision on, Leni Robredo will remain VP.
Macalintal exuded confidence that the PET decision will not order the immediate removal of Robredo regardless of the October 8 decision.
“If the PET says that Marcos has made a substantial recovery, then the PET will rule that the protest shall continue… In which case, Robredo remains as Vice President pending recount of ballots or returns from said 22 provinces and 5 Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs),” Macalintal told Rappler.
Meanwhile, netizen blogger Benjie Daisy Contreras, staunch supporter of Bongbong Marcos, remarked on his Facebook post that that it does not whether Marcos can take his post as VP or not, as long as it is proven that Robredo benefited from election cheating in the 2016 VP election.
Contreras declared that the son of former President Marcos is going to emerge as the strongest candidate for President in the 2022 Presidential election.
Why? Because the people’s sympathy will go to Marcos while Robredo will be thrown into political ignominy.
Whether Contreras prediction will become a reality in 2022 and if that happens, the Marcoses may one day return to Malacanang, something that the Aquinos and LPs hated to see.

Marcos will be propelled to political greatness while Robredo will be thrown to political ignominy.
