Lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles (still suspended?) exposed the ignorance or limited knowledge of lawmaker and Kabataan Party-list Representative Sarah Elago on Facebook.

Angeles was reacting to Elago’s tweet wherein the Kabataan party-list Representative urged Twitterverse to reject the return of Marcoses to power while slamming the Marcoses for attempting to snatch the vice presidency through an electoral protest from Leni Robredo.

The word “snatch” and “reject the return of Marcoses to power” were the keywords that triggered Atty. Trixie to write a strong rebuttal versus Elago’s tweet.

In a Facebook post published on 8 October 2019, Angeles first asked Elago to clarify about her statement rejecting the return of Marcoses to power when the people voted in hordes in favor of the Marcoses? To Angeles’ understanding, Elago’s statement do not rhyme with her rejection of Marcoses return to power because it was the people who voted Marcoses to power. And power, in a democracy emanates from the people. In addition, Marcos’ electoral protest is not only credible, it is perceived as just, reflecting the voice of the people.

Second, Angeles how can Elago call that Marcos is trying to snatch the vice presidency through an electoral protest? Angeles asked Elago if the word “recover” is the more appropriate word to use since the electoral protest is a legal action? Angeles begged Elago to share her view if Leni Robredo’s attempt to snatch the Presidency through inciting to sedition is an illegal one?

Wait. You reject the return of the Marcoses to power? But where does power come from? It’s supposed to come from the people. And there they are, voting in hordes. Voting in such big numbers, BBM’s electoral protest is not only credible, it is perceived as just, reflecting the voice of the people.

Snatch the vice presidency through an electoral protest? Snatch? How about recover? And how about the fact that this protest is a legal action? And Leni’s own attempt to snatch THE PRESIDENCY through inciting to sedition, is an ILLEGAL one?
